may have about Gulf Rent-A-Car. We have included information about our rental policies, our
rental vehicles, our rates, and our privacy policy. If you have a specific question that is not answered here

What is the minimum age requirement to rent from
you?
Our insurance company requires that any person listed on our rental
agreement be at least 21 years old.
Are multiple drivers allowed?
Yes. Each driver must be listed on the rental agreement and be at
least 21 years old.
Can I use a cash deposit instead of a major credit
card?
Yes. We do accept cash deposits if a major credit card is not
available to you. Prior approval is required. Major credit cards
accepted are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Do you offer one-way rentals?
No. Our rentals are local only, within a 100 mile
radius. For example, Orlando and Sarasota are within the area, Miami
and Gainesville are not.
Is 24-Hour Emergency Road Service available for my
rental?
Yes, at no charge to you.
How many "free" miles am I allowed with
my rental?
You are allowed 100 free miles per day. The mileage is
averaged over the entire rental period.
Do you offer airport pick-up and return?
No. Our incredibly low rates are made possible by keeping our
expenses low. SuperShuttle
offers airport service to our location
from either St Pete/Clearwater International Airport or Tampa International
Airport. They offer low rates and high reliability. There are
also numerous taxi services at each airport as well. If you are
staying locally in the Clearwater, Dunedin, Largo, Palm Harbor, or Beach
Areas, we do offer a ride to and from your location with prior
approval.
What does the term "CDW " stand for?
CDW is Collision Damage Waiver. CDW covers the rental vehicle
only. Your own automobile insurance policy may cover any damage
to the rental vehicle while in your possession. If not, you must
purchase coverage from us. We offer CDW at minimal rates.
Do you offer after hours drop-off?
Yes, with prior approval.
How long have you been renting cars in Clearwater?
We have been in business for over 20 years.
How many offices do you have?
We currently operate two offices in Clearwater. Our main office is
located at 529 Howard Court, at the intersection of Alternate Highway 19
(South Fort Harrison Avenue) and Belleair Road. Our downtown office is
located at 1384 Gulf-To-Bay Blvd., at the intersection of Cleveland Street
and Gulf-To-Bay Blvd.

What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to
6:00 PM, Saturdays
8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. All times are
Eastern Time Zone.
Are you a member of the Better Business Bureau?
Yes. We are also a member in good standing with several trade
organizations.
What types of vehicles do you rent?
Our fleet is made up of several types of vehicles. We carry
several different makes and models. To suit your needs, we rent
Compacts, Mid-Size, and Full-Size vehicles. We also carry Mini-Vans,
Convertibles, and pick-up trucks.
Do you rent new vehicles or previously owned
vehicles?
Our fleet is made up of vehicles three to five years old. Each
of our vehicles is carefully inspected before entering rental service.
Are your vehicles well maintained?
Yes. In addition to a 20-point safety check each time a
vehicle is returned, our service technician inspects our rentals every 3000
miles.
Do you offer weekly and monthly discount rates?
Yes. Let us know how long you plan to keep the rental, and we will
structure the best possible rate for you.
Do you offer a discount for AAA or AARP?
Yes. Just ask!
How is your rental day based?
Our rental day is based upon a 24 hour day. For instance, if
you rent a vehicle at 9:00 AM, the vehicle is due back at 9:00 AM upon
returning.
Do I pay for my own fuel?
Yes. The rental vehicle leaves with a full tank of fuel, and
you simply return it the same way.
Privacy Policy
Do you share my personal information?
Absolutely not! We do not rent, sell, or loan to anyone any information
about you. Any information gathered by us about you is only used to quote a
rental rate or rent you a car.
